Forging nails the traditional way is a fascinating journey into the past, where blacksmiths were the heart of every village. This class will include hands-on experience with the forge, anvil, and hammer, teaching students the art of heating, bending, and shaping metal to create nails just as it was done centuries ago. It's a skill that hones patience and precision, offering a unique blend of history and practicality, where every strike of the hammer links us to the blacksmiths of old. This class will not only preserve these time-honored techniques but also instill a sense of accomplishment in creating something truly by hand.
Here at True Serendipity Homestead, we have decided to put the 50 plus years of life experience to good use by making available, our art and skills, by teaching others what we have learned. Michael offers workshops on blacksmithing and milling lumber using a small Wood Mizer bandsaw mill that is great for the beginning homesteader!
We also offer campsites around our private pond through a company called Hipcamp and also Airbnb.
